Who Owns the Content
I can foresee a class action law suit larger than the Valdez Oil Spill with this one.
Just who owns the content on a website? The user has the right and the option not to read it, to click away and read elsewhere. But, what options are secured for the content providers?
If you as a reader object to a websites content, if the needed information is not located, Google, Yahoo and, the very accurate in my humble opinion, MSN are at your disposal. But the thought of adding links or redirecting links off a privately owned site is like rewriting a novel and profiting off the hard work of another without their consent.
I can see many small businesses filing bankruptcy in the future as their clients are hijacked away without paying at the checkout.
The internet was once referred to as the great equalizer where everyone large and small competed on an even plane. Is that now to end?
And now think of this, If the small websites disappear, what will Google do? Recreate them from a cashed image? Again Who owns the content?
