Google Toolbar Changes
I haven't tried the Google Toolbar yet, still getting by with the standard version 9 AOL for Broadband toolbar... but since AOL's toolbar is "enhanced by Goodle," I may be using some of those features and not know it.

Personally, I see this as a POSITIVE step, if properly implemented in the long run. Currently, If I'm searching for a product or type of product... or not even sure and doing various keyword searches until something turns up... when I find what I'm looking for, or something similar, at a website, then I may do a second global search for either that specific product brand name, that name of what that product is DESCRIBED as being, or both...

If, instead, my toolbar includes links to the place with the best buy or selection of this item, well, it's started the process... but if there's only that one link, I will generally do a second search, myself, to see what I find...

Where I see the REAL potential for Google here is to do something like eCost has done... On certain product comparison sites, when you click the "buy" link for the brand, you're directed to a site called eCost which shows a variety of online retailers with various prices, shipping charges and "star ratings." You can click on the ratings to see what others have said about the company, which has kept me from a few loballers and NEAR the bottom of the pack instead of dealing with lowlives when I bought my last digital camera.

Now if Google does something similar, and just gets a little piece of the action from every sale, to whatever site you purchase from, everybody should be happy.

I mean, isn't that a WIN WIN WIN???

As for modifying someone's intellectual property after it's installed on a third party's machine automatically wihtout the informed consent of both, yeah, I think I can see some problems with that, so they should make sure all responsible parties are included, fairly treated and informed, huh?

That's one thing that's already impressed me about Google, is that the young guys who run the company seem to have hearts at big as their bank accounts, so unless they suddenly get too greedy, perhaps we can see a little cooperative netbusiness in the future, with open honest price and satisfaction comparison shopping.

Sure would be refreshing, huh?
