Important rule for selling on line - keep the customer on your site.

When I develop sites for selling a product on the internet, I don't provide links to take a customer away from my site. I want them them to stay at my site and eventually click on the "add to basket". If a link is introduced which takes them elsewhere (potentially a competitor), I've lost a sale.

Let me give you an obvious example. Suppose I sell books online which lists the numbers which will cause the Google toolbar to insert a link to Amazon. Google has just given my customer and my commission to Amazon.

Also, IF I have a news site that makes money through affiliate marketing, I don't put links in the story that takes the reader away from my site. I want him to click on MY adds and I invested a great deal of money on development, editing, hardware, and payment for content.

I predict the software will lead to multiple lawsuits. Copyright infringement will be the legal basis of the suite and loss of revenue from the loss of customers will be the basis of the claim for damages.
