Please - Dont Give MS the Wheel...

I would not want MS to be steering the web...anymore...especially on this one. MS a corporation - selfish by definition - profit first - interoperability last. The web should always be cross platform and interoperable.

As much as I respect the WHAT group, their solution is only a short term fix. Maybe the W3C can compromise and use the WHAT recommendation until XForm capability can be incrementally added to browsers - say 5 years. In the meantime, WHAT's idea will keep forms working because it leans on scripting that exists today. The big forces (like DoD, Oracle, etc) already see the value of XForms and will start using it in appropriate internal applications. In 5 years time, some bugs will be worked out and ADE's will pop up to make it easier for commercial adapters and the browsers will be ready.

That being said, I would much rather adopt a "revolutionary" plan devised by the W3C than a scheme by any one corporation because the W3C seeks to forward the whole technology. It's an inclusive monopoly.

MS wants to be the only store in town so you have to pay them or starve. I can't wait another 20 years for the US DOJ and the EU Courts to wake up and prosecute their criminal activity again.
