Why not standardize the interfaces for the form controls?
Would it not make more sense to standardize the controls' (program) interfaces instead of trying to standardize on one of several development platforms?

For example, a text box control must have a .value property, an .update method, a .changed property, etc. A button must have an .enabled property, a .click method, etc.

Of course, my quick hypothetical example assumes that the controls are handled as objects. This type of standard would ensure that a form would function regardless of what it was coded with.
