Video versus audio
To me a big difference is that I'm going to watch a movie once, then not watch it again for a while. Maybe view the movies I own 5-10 times over the years.

With music, I'll listen to it many times the first week I own it, then periodically for years after that. It means less to me to own a movie, which I'll maybe watch once a year, than a song, which I'll listen to once a week.

I agree with you on cable though. I'm finding there are maybe 3 or 4 channels I watch regularly, and could do without the remaining ones. If only we could get a la carte pricing.

Anyone have a satellite system? Are any such pricing schemes available?
