Between my roommates and I, we have over 1000 CDs from the
past 10 years or so. That's well over 15000 songs right there. I
also have free music (legitimate, free music) that I've
downloaded. My personal collection could fill up an iPod in no
time.

Not to mention that the iPod doubles as a storage device. You
can partition it so only 10GBs is for music while the other 50GBs
is for storage. Since I'm a graphic designer, 50GBs of portable
storage is very welcome for my GBs of Photoshop and InDesign
files.

Plus, what happens to the music I'm "renting" from Napster after
I stop my subscription? It goes away. I just payed $120 for a
year of music and I get to keep nothing. I'd rather buy 12
albums.
