But it's more than that
It's not just a matter of making sure only legal files can be shared. It's making sure ALL legal files can be shared. All it takes is for one single legal file to get blocked for a lawsuit to be filed against the MPAA/RIAA.

If network maintainers judged each file traded individually, the way a pawn shop owner judges each item and customer individually, then that's one thing. But you can't make arbitrary blanket accusations. You can't profile. If a legal file does not pass their litmus test of being legal, then it has been profiled.
