I think you're seriously mistaken here Roger
---How do you justify the fact that your $250 iPod is UNABLE to use this service?---

My iPod can use this service just fine. One can load mp3's onto an iPod. I've got tons of mp3's I've either ripped from my own cd's or downloaded legally from the web and they work just fine.

I think you're confusing the iPod and the iTunes Music Store. The iPod will play lots and lots of file formats, AAC, mp3, Apple lossless, AIFF, Wav, audible and a few others. The only thing it won't play is WMA files (protected or unprotected).
