I don't see things changing much. Our courts, and the RIAA's lawyers, can't handle launching 60 million lawsuits.

Note also, that not a single one of these lawsuits has gone to court yet. I think things will change when one does. Win or lose, the price for sharing a song will be set with a legal precedent. If it's high, expect everyone else to settle, if it's low, expect no one to settle, further tying up the courts and the RIAA's lawyers.

The cat is out of the bag as far as the technology goes. You can't move back in time as the RIAA is trying to do. You can only adapt with the times, like the MPAA did with the advent of the VCR.
