missing the point
Think you are missing the point as usual John. If Google 'sold' the adword 'Microsoft' to a competitor so that the competitor's products would ALWAYS show at the top of the list.... I'm sure Microsoft would sue, too.

The fact is when a consumer searchers for a KNOWN BRAND, we expect to FIND the BRAND NAME. Not some cheap knock off or fake.

This has NOTHING to do with sidebars or those large ads in the middle. It sounds like they are referring to the actual search results.
