Cookies should not be a necessity
Too many websites are now requiring cookies. The problem I have is that they require I temporarily disable the security via my firewall to enable the cookie. As an example, no matter what I have done to disable security, I still can't access Washington Post.com. That makes me think that the sites are trying to do much more than simply add a few tidbits of information to my computer.
