Cookies .. the good and the bad
I applaud the Spy Bill (what a name!) for NOT excluding third party cookies. They should be excluded. They are not needed and they do spy and they can be viewed by the third party company across the boards between sites to see where the computer user has been on the Internet in order to further their database at our expense.

But what happens when these other types of Spyware, Malware, Parasites have been made illegal? Will these people turn to placing their files as 'text' cookie files on one website and in turn change it to an executable if and when someone lands on another site? Who knows. Some of the things they are currently done were never considered as a possibility either.

However, not all cookies are bad. Most same site cookies are just to help folks customize their view of the site, remember what forum posts they have read, help them login to read a news article or their own personal settings on a site they are subscribed to, help them to remember what they've purchased on a site, even things as simple as how they view the site, such as themes and personal space...these are personal cookies that generally are benign and should be excluded.

They should not get hung up in the minutia.

There are types of spyware that are extremely dangerous and are dragging their computers from 3Ghz computers to acting like 486mhz machines, or crashing and burning, or logging their keystrokes, monitoring their traffic, emailing their owners with your personal information, and worse.
