Read my message below, "Tax What????"
Many are missing the point. Taxation is well-founded when it gives each individual a means to make a difference for the better. It encourages efficiency and punishes destructive behavior.
If we must be taxed, tax the ones who waste the fuel that pollutes our air. Encourage good behavior by not taxing clever solutions and programs that fix problems.
We are in trouble right now in this country exactly because we have been taxed in the wrong places. Price a Hum-vee and see. Then go out and price a bicycle or a garden tool. In my state, the sales tax is the same. But the Feds are actually HELPING people to buy Hum-Vees.
Meanwhile, where did those bicycle sales taxes go?
Do I see bicycle paths? No. I see bicycles being nearly run over by gas-guzzling SUVs!
Are automaker's fortunes our fortunes?
No! They only create jobs lost because better industries are not being supported enough.
