IDC predicts Linux' market share based on unit sales will rise from 24% today to 33% in 2007

When did IDC predict that Linux would hit 24%? The last prediction I remember had Linux reaching 8% in 2004.

On the desktop side, IDC sees Linux' share more than doubling, from 3% today to 6% in 2007

When did they predict 3% ? Again, the last prediction I remember was for 1% in 2004.

I hope you have the old predictions, since the track record of outfits like IDC are all we have to judge them by.
