But is that good or bad?
I mean, there's a reason why the 'patronage' system of supporting the arts died out, right? We (in America) are told that the public as a whole should support the arts, rather that 'starving artists' having to depend on the kindness of a patron to survive while they pursue their passion.

So, is it good or bad that some large corporations are turning into patrons of open source?
