Perhaps not, but....
Since we still need police to deal with the murderers, thieves, vandals, etc., who is gonna pay for the additional enforcement resources to stop people from copying music and movies? Are you voting for a tax increase? You'll find you won't get a majority for that! I have an idea: let the copyright holders (mostly very rich corporations, anyway) fund their own enforcement through civil suits. Don't worry, you'll get to pay for it anyway...they'll just add it into the price of their products as long as they can maintain their distribution monopoly (which is what this is really about, anyway!)
