The law is the law is the law argument seems flawed, citizens can and always have shown disregard for a law they disagree with - Boston Massacre (aka Tea Party) anyone? The explosion in p2p fileswapping of copyrighted material seems to indicate a large disregard for the worth of the law. (To equate copyright infringment with murder is disingenuous to say the very least).

Rather than try to rule by fear (of the consequences) why not see conformance through acceptance? Like asking p2p'rs what they would be willing to pay for a better quality product?

Answers could be surprising
