No, this, like the idea of putting 60 million people in jail, is not a viable solution (although, truth be told, since the MPAA had a record year at the box office, giving up would still leave them a very healthy business).

Instead, why not recognize the demand for product in this fashion and try to capitalize on it. Make even more money, like they did when they had the same fears about the VCR.
