I think it's the opposite
I think the MPAA/RIAA have only a small portion of the population on thier side. You even see that in on these messages boards. For every 1 person you see who is against P2P you see 10 people arguing the opposite. I don't know a single real person that would side with the RIAA.

When if comes to drugs I find you have closer to 50/50 split. At least that's how it is in Canada when it comes to drugs. 50% are for keeping drugs illegal and 50% say legalize it, tax it, and let people who are going to do drug anyways do drugs.

That's where the real problem is. It's the fact that people don't see downloading a tune for free as a real problem. They see onlines sales growing depsite P2P, they see CD sales growing despite P2P, and they see DVD sales skyrocketing despite P2P. So where's the problem, right? They keep buying and downloading same as always.

Pesonally I don't think that Major Recording Labels and Major Studios have any idea what thier product is. They know they sell music and movies but why do people buy them? They just know people do buy thier product. They just lack the knowledge of why people buy thier product.
