People who use Macs are the people who know EXACTLY what a computer is.
From what I've observed, the people who use Apple Macintoshes
are the people who know exactly what a computer is. To avoid
the countless viruses, trojans, security exploits, and losses in
man hours due to downed systems, the Macintosh is a wonderful
escape from all that crap.

Apple provides solutions for what you might call "real"
computing such as scalable rackmount servers (which are
unparalleled in the price:performance ratio), node clustering,
and thin-net clients. Not to mention that the ONLY privately
owned super computing cluster by ANY school is based on
Apple's XServe.

Since the Macintosh also runs Microsoft Office, Cisco VPN,
Oracle database servers and clients, Novell Netware clients, even
integrate with Microsoft Exchange and Outlook servers, it
couldn't be more suited as a "real" computer.

Not to mention that on top of the industry leading hardware
runs a very modern, UNIX based operating system. So not only
do you have access to Mac OS exclusive software, but now you
also have access to UNIX terminal applications and (with X11
installed) XWindows based applications. In a pinch, you can
even install VirtualPC with Windows XP or 2003 and run Windows
applications. Or even on a more practical note, you can run a
VNC client and just connect to a Windows PC and control it that
way.

Even on top of all of that, you get one smart looking computer.
Great hardware, great software, AND it looks phenomenal. You
truly get what you pay for.
