Cradle to grave
When I was young, I would always inquire if something was the "truth". I wanted to fill my head with FACTS ONLY and avoid having to sort through stuff. I was always told that the writer of a book was maybe biased, or that "You have to make that decision for yourself". Being a kid, that was difficult if not impossible. It was only after I grew up that I understood that you need multiple sources and to be skeptical.

It is SO much easier to just hear one story, one time, and then make up your mind on it. Yeah, it is very "shallow" and can have major (bad) consequences, but some people just don't have the time, strength, or intellect to do anything more than that. How do you pick your 401k stock plans? Do you research and compare, or do you just pick a few and hope for the best?

The current row in journalism is that those very same people, don't like that "first and only" source of information. Not that they would look elsewhere, they just want to fix that one problem and just get the FACTS ONLY. Hmm, I guess some people NEVER grow up . . .
