Technology makes ideals achievable
Technology has made the means of communication and publication open and symmetric?both the writer and reader can publish. So, the ideals of transparency and fairness for masses are now achievable.

But all bloggers may not be truly independent. They may have their own bias or they may be paid to serve some ulterior purpose in business, governance and religion.

Access to raw data helps but most readers prefer reading headlines and conclusions. Often, they don?t have skill or patience to read and analyze the raw information (even if available) and arrive at conclusion. Some section of the community may mislead others for any reason but technology is equally accessible to the other members of community to correct the impressions fairly and openly.

For that to happen, we need an elected team of referees, moderators and editorial board to manage multiple inputs, moderate, analyze, summarize, conclude or leave it open. With such an arrangement, casual readers get democratically moderated reasoned summary and they have access to all the raw data, analysis, and arguments of all participants. What is more, the readers themselves can participate and contribute at any stage. Thanks to technology.
