Search is nice but overhyped
I have tried many search engines, including the ones mentioned in the story, and google is still my favorite. But to be fair, they all worked about the same and delivered comparable results. Isn't is funny how these seach guys think they are sooo special? Dudes, it's just a commodity, no one cares what you use to search with outside of the small circle of search geeks. That's why all those suckers who bought google stock will re-live the meltdown in the stock price experienced earlier this century when people discovered the concept of value. Commodity search is NOT a premium priced business, there is little to no differentiation between products. Some have mentioned problems with MSN Map, not a surprise, but that has little relevance to me in this discussion. It's about search technology and who can keep the eyeballs to show advertising.
