Bogus comparison
You seem to be referring to Vietnam, and comparing that to Iraq? I believe we have learned that lesson well. I've heard this comparison before and I don't buy it, and you skipped Afghanistan. The bad guys didn't re-take that country did they?

Let's compare Iraq to Afghanistan to be closer in time and geography. The people (who voted for him btw) seem to really like the pres of Iraq, don't they? Of course Karzai needs protection just like any pres. And I'm sure Jeff would believe the Afghan elections were rigged also, why not? But it is a success story none-the-less, why can't you and others factor that into your view of Iraq?

Iraq will NOT be and is NOT anything like Vietnam. This is yet another thing people need to get over, it happened, we learned a valuable, and argueably unnecessarily hard learned lesson, and most of us have moved on.

And maybe you're not being paranoid, but you are dragging out and beating a dead horse. We may need to come up with a more modern version of Godwin's law to apply to someone bringing up Vietnam in an unfair comparison.
