Tic, I think you nailed it. I'm a big Tivo fan, with 5+ years of
time shifting experience with my Series 1. But when it stops
doing what I bought it for, it will be replaced by a home built
unit (the non-broadcast flag aware components are already
purchased).

Tivo was a great company but they failed to learn the lessons of
history:

Tivo + Microsoft = Microsoft
