Great ideas but not relevant
We are talking about the legitimacy of P2P networks. I hear a lot of talk about how they are for more than just sharing "infringed" material but I don't see any effort towards ensuring that non "infringed" material is the focus. All the talk is that P2P is legitimate, all the effort is towards making P2P operators immune from prosecution. Why, if the honest intent is to share non "infringing" materials, is there absolutely no effort in solving the root problem (the proliferation of "infringing" material) and 100% effort on getting rid of the symptom (P2P operators being sued).

Will there always be piracy on P2P networks? Yes. Are mainstream P2P operators doing enough to make sure that "infringement" is anything other than rampant on P2P? No. As I've said before, they are doing just the opposite. Instead of not "infringing" cookies from the cookie jar, they try to find new hiding spots so they don't get a spanking and in doing so, lose all their legitimacy. Want to be taken seriously? Stop acting like a 10 year old.
