I have an idea
How about instead of coming up with technologies to make it harder to be sued, come up with technologies to get rid of the reason for the lawsuits: the illegal "infringement" of copyrighted material? How about working with copyright holders to ensure that illegal material is easily identifiable and removable from the P2P system? Until a concerted effort is made to make P2P systems legally responsible, instead of legally "immune", P2P systems will always be under attack. The RIAA cannot sue anybody if no "infringement" is taking place. The RIAA doesn't care (and even if they did, they would have no legal recourse) if P2P systems are used to distribute Linux or home movies, or demo tapes. This just seems like the more mature approach rather than this childish (and expensive) game of hide and seek that really should be left for 10 year olds.
