Report: Big boost for blogs in 2004

One has to wonder if these "Internet veterans" have not heard of Usenet. I find the increasing use of HTML for textual information a sad waste of bandwidth. It adds nothing to information content. Of course, Usenet is about discussion, not narcissistic self adoration. One has to wonder what kind of desperate person assumes that anyone else would be interested in reading their personal journal or diary. Unless, of course, the reader is some kind of sick stalker.
