IE vs Firefox (Mozilla)
1. HTML Standards:
Microsoft does it incorrectly, so everyone must do it incorrectly?

2. Corporate Applications (Active-X):
Corporations (and anyone else) can keep IE for internal applications since there are no security issues to speak of. For dealing with the unregulated, outside world, using something a little more secure than IE won't kill anyone. There is no reason why someone can't use two browsers.

3. Signed executables (active-x or otherwise):
Do all of you examine every certificate for every plug-in you come across and verify it against the appropriate certificate authority?

4. IE security has been dramatically improved with XP-SP2:
Well, that's ok for those who purchased a computer in the last year or two, or paid Microsoft $100-$300 for XP. But those without a spare $200 or fast computer or any of a number of reasons to to switch to XP are out of luck.
And remember, SP2 only lists the garbage that attached itself to IE, it does not allow you to remove it.

5. Firefox has its own security problems:
That's like a restaurant being shut down for health violations telling the inspector 'But that other place smells funny.'
