Yes, but what if you could make Active-X safer on Firefox??
And give corporations a migration strategy. For corporations, you could make it so user were only allowed to use Active-X on approved sites, not changeable by individual users.

And, yes, the default behaviour of Firefox should be standards based, but with an option to emulate IE for "bad" sites.

Right now corporations are stuck on Windows because many clients/partners/customers are using Active-X and non-standard html on sites they MUST have access to. They would love a transition strategy to support the legacy sites while moving to a standards based environment.
