BitTorrent has avialability (only easy to get recent mainstream stuff) and centralization (Easy MPAA targets) problems despite its superior speed and anti-leech.

I wonder if SuprNova and the like were involved in the releasing of files? New 3rd party variants of bittorrent let you run public non-hosting trackers that can be seeded by outside releasers.

I think It is also safe to assume that the original bittorrent program is dead and the author probably got bought out with money and/or job (as opposed to getting sued which would happen eventiually if he didn't take the bribes). Fox did it to the Sithmas authors and 2 large overseas companies did to 2 of the major cast members of Broken Alegiance 2 and also Greg Martin a really cool space artist who gives his work away for free. But pay homage to the open source concept and bittorrent won't die!

New sites that pop up will be harder to sue because they won't be involved in relasing files and may not even run public trackers! A Public Tracker actually is very much like a Kazaa supernode or a Donkey Server but is severly hindered by the fact that .torrents are still tracker bound (although they can have multiple trackers now and can be generated without running a tracker or releasing a file).

ED2K:// links, however are not server bound!!
