Re: Not for me, possibly others, but not me.
First, it's Bit Torrent, not Torrent.

Second, Bit Torrent is a protocol, not a piece of software. 2 web sites were shut down. Shutting down Bit Torrent is like shutting down HTTP. Not only is there no 1 company to go after, there is no 1 piece of software or server.

Third, as I've already pointed out to you, there are companies using their own Bit Torrent clients to distribute their own software. Blizzard is one very large example .. the patch utility for World of Warcraft is a Bit Torrent client. It lowers the cost of bandwidth for the company distributing the software. Another good example is bt.etree.org. Those are bands (gasp!) which allow you to download their music for free (shudder!) and you've probably heard of them (the outrage!) Go ahead and look ... Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Greatful Dead, Pearl Jam. Lots of big names there and it's all, not only free, but 100% legal.
