Very scary precedent (and apparently selective enforcement)
In my personal opinion, it is reprehensible that the CEO of an online auctioneer can be thrown in jail because someone tried to sell something illegal on his site. Maybe that's my self-interested perspective as an executive of an Internet company that operates in many countries -- or maybe it's common sense.

Online auctions are magnets for abuse. It's guaranteed that some jerk will try to use the tool to do something illegal. Responsible companies prevent what they can, monitor danger points, and respond quickly when something obscene gets through. Baazee.com seems to have done all that, and still the CEO is jailed! That's just nuts.

And I can't condone the hypocrisy here, either. News reports out of India say that the teenagers-having-sex video was widely distributed via e-mail and sold on CD in public markets (and probably trains). Yet one sale on the Internet gets CEO Bajaj thrown in jail. That's seems like grandstanding by the police and judge.
