There is a bunch of software out there worse than Comscore
I ahve no argument that Comscore's software is "spyware" in the traditional definition of spyware. Going off the premise that personal information is the coin of the realm it only makes sense that more corporations are going to do all they can to data mine directly off your's and my computers. My argument is that all to often there is a larger problem of corporate snooping that we should be aware of. Comscore is the tip of the iceberg.

Our personal info is too readily available to the general public besides. As technology increases in size and scope it is my opinion that there are too many databases that are readitly available to anyone who wants to snoop from their home computer.

Let's do a simple search for Daddy Bushs' property taxes.
(Search page)
http://www.hctax.net/propertytax/current/currentsearch.asp#NSearch
(Result)
http://www.hctax.net/propertytax/current/2004Statement.asp?Account=0670730000008

Take a look at what is available. Now I have a real address. If hae has an unlisted phone number (he does BTW) I can find that out from an online database. I can legally go to the county court house and find out what cars he drives, get license numbers including drivers liscense, search for court proceedings and the list goes on and on. Looking in the right places I can discover his SSAN. Obviously if I focus my serch on Daddy Bush that will raise some flags in someones eyes but say I am searching you.....No one will give a second thought.

ComScore ain't nothin once a person realizes what is readily available to anyone out there. Tracking cookies are a joke and spyware is a bigger joke. Obviously if a hacker gets a proggie on your puter that is scarey. The governement is the least of our worries, these corporations that collect data is a bigger problem. I did a search for my name on one and their "current" records are so full of mistakes it is scarey. Do your self a favor and read the info posted on the sights below. These are not third party conspiracy sites. Get Napolitano's book.
