Oh please..
if my CD player will play it, I can rip it. There is only one way they are ever going to "protect" CDs, and that is to do away with the current CD format and players and design ones that have "pretection" built in. Although nothing will ever be able to stop people from recording the output of their stereo.

I need to look into this technology because I am wondering how you wrap a song in strong encryption and yet and ordinary CD player can still play it.
