Purple Coat?
Avant is cluttered and doesn't have much in the way of extensions. Whether or not it does tabbed browsing better than Firefox is a matter of personal opinion.

And because it uses IE's rendering engine, it inherits IE's peculiarities too.

But do try it... choice is good!
