It is very different. Sorry that you disagree. The fact is this is a case where things can be done and done fairly easily to place controls on the infringement, maybe not stop it entirely, but certainly kill 75% to 90%. The real crime here is that these companies (and yes they are registered as companies so the owners are given protection under the law. Isn't that rich?) are trying to play bury the head in the sand, it's not our fault, but hey we just happen to be making money from it so no, there is nothing we can possibly do.

I am so amazed, no make that disgusted, with people coming to these talk backs and going on endlessly about how software can be made to do anything, and 30 seconds later claim *nothing* can be done. I have made a very workable suggestion that would indeed reduce infringing use and no one has given any reason it wouldn't work for a very large portion of the infringing public. And in no way does it stand in the way of legitimate/legal file sharing. In fact when reviewed the honest folks say, "yeah that might just work". But the naysayers show up and tell me software can be made to do anything and because they are so special they can do it easily get around anything with their gungfoo.

Do you not see how silly and contradictory this is?

We have never allowed a for profit company or private person to make a living off of another's copyrighted work without compensation. (As all P2Ps do.) There is absolutely NO REASON to do so now and the laws must be adjusted to make certain it doesn't. Disagree with me if you want, it's ok. Just be aware I am doing everything I can to convince the courts and Congress of it so I hope you are presenting your side of it too.
