A note to Apple
If my own MP3 rips from my own CD's stop working on iPod... I will drop iPod from high rise building and start lobbying agianst iPod.

Until then I do not give damn about Apple Music Store or other online music stores for that matter.

I was also reluctant to such firmware upgrades as well iTunes upgrades for over a year not letting to do so on my PowerMac. That was the reason. Apple has odd ways and that's not different than what Microsoft did in the past. Sneaky software disabling or modifying some of functionality you got used to. And tha comes as "an extra feature" with your software patch.

Although I am a big fan of Apple, I do not approve such tactics. One day it can happen that I become a pain in the neck of Apple tech support when rebuilding computer or reformatting iPod asking for the original software. They may refuse, butI believe there are also laws ordering to support ceratain stuff just like car replacement parts.
That we can find out... and the funny part is that for such consumer cases federal agencies may come handy so, no out of pocket expense for a lawsuit.
