Nah, I don't think many people were glued to their screens at all. In fact, I don't think the public was ever enamored with this case. Just another example of the media creating stories where there aren't really any.
Anyways, I say bring back medieval torturous executions. Boil the sucker in oil, or disembowel him with a wooden cooking spoon. Broadcast it live on network TV for all the other twisted losers of the world to cringe at and think twice about their murderous cravings..
