Your furthering my argument
My argument was that the severity of the misuse of the product was more important than the percentages of people misusing it. Your counter argument just furthers my point:

---Hmmm, atomic energy has many, many positive uses. Nuclear bombs are "just a side issue". Now, do you think we should allow everyone to have nukes becaue there is some good uses? I vote no!---

If you go by your quantity of abuse argument, you've got one nation that has twice used a nuclear bomb. You've got thousands and thousands of "legit" uses, like power plants, so this would be an allowed technology and everyone could have it.

If you go by my severity of the misuse argument, you'd argue that even a tiny percentage of abuse would be devastating, so it wouldn't be allowed.

Which again, argues that p2p should be allowed because the crimes committed so far have not harmed anyone.

---Point being, just becaue something may (and in fact does) have positive uses does not mean it should be available to just anyone---

True, but the other side of the coin is that there are useful objects, like guns and knives, that can be abused, but we take a careful balanced approach and allow them.

---If a real study was done and it is found that 99% of all shares are illegal, I would say then it should be removed from the market.---

Again, the percentages are irrelevant as far as I'm concerned to the damage done by the abuse (see above arguments).
