It's all interconnected
Everything has something to do with Microsoft. EDS screws up an upgrade -- it's Microsoft's fault because EDS was upgrading Windows. Kazaa is a conduit for spyware -- it's Microsoft's fault because Kazaa is using Windows. Users aren't smart enough not to open suspicious email -- it's Microsoft's fault for making computers so easy to use that the unwashed masses think they can use them.

If Microsoft didn't exist, OSS supporters would have to invent it to have a convenient villain.
