Iraq war, minority stances, and free speech
Actually, most of the anti-war demonstrators in the 70s were just part of the rebellious counterculture. Most of them had never seen war, and knew little or nothing about real-world politics. This discredited their ideas more than anything else.

You say that you are "standing up" to take a "minority stance", but the day of that argument is past. Liberalism is now the status quo in America, and yet liberals still consider themselves the persecuted minority when crushing conservative resistance. If you count it on who voted in the 2004 election, conservatives have a very weak lead. But as for the media, liberalism is the accepted position. Your stance, not mine, is the popular one. As for me, I'm here defending my position, which should be no less accepted than yours.

Heh. I'm used to you all right. You seem to be fairly new on this forum, but yours is the standard political position, and by far the most popular among posters on this forum. You're not by any means the first liberal I've encountered here!

I am on the side of free speech and the right to believe whatever you want. Now, although free speech includes the right to hurl insults at your opponents and paint them as idiots, I don't think it would be wise or considerate to do that here. However, your position is still just as legitimate as mine, and I would defend your right to free speech if it was under threat.
