Sorry about your relative...that explains a lot.
However I am also sorry that he did NOT die for my freedoms.
No one has yet to explain how terrorists can effectt mine or
your freedoms. They do not have the military might to control a
nation unless that is by fear and I for one will NEVER be afraid of
terrorist so they can NOT effect my freedoms. So far what with
the patriot act and all the only ones who are watching me and
effecting my freedoms are my own government. Please "IF" you
can explain how these terrorist or any terrorist anywhere can
effect my freedom then I want to know. The only way I can
imagine it is "IF" we hand them our freedom and I have no plans
to do so..not matter what.

Saddam was and never was a terrorist. A mad man and an ego
maniac (they seem to go together) I did NOT say we talk and
negotiate with those who are incaplable of doing so. First we
find out, then we take the action necessary. Like cutting the
mad man off from outside support and making sure his source
of power ie OIL buys him little or nothing. Like the sanctions
and our no fly zones were doing. Then keep and eye on his
limited actions with inspectors or if he does not allow inspectors
in...increase the sanction and make his entire country a no fly
zone..basically giving the rebels a large amount of freedom to
move and act. Then giving the rebels training and weapons...let
them decide thteir own fate ..ie that whole FREEDOM thing
again.

You talk to those who will talk, you fight those who choose to
fight...seems simple too me. And yes where this country has
done wrong or cointinues to do wrong..REGARDLESS of the
benefits to us in terms of OIL you make a turn around and do
RIGHT! Even if it means something as simple as a appology for
past actions.

Now "IF" you are coming at me...Is a world of difference between
that and "HEY that guy over there looks different, drresses
different, worships different, and talks funny. He owns a gun,
and I've seen him on the target range..he's damn good with that
gun. Logically he has the potential of being a threat. Heck he's
even told me straight out he does not like me. Let's kill hiim"
Or a Navy steaming toward Pearl Habor that is NOT us..should
be met with and equal and or stronger force in the middle of the
ocean and whe say "Sorry boys....you lost?" With all guns a
pointing in their dirrection. I can give you countless examples
of where we would always be right and the deaths some
innocent none the less would not stain our souls for all etermity.
However I can also say with out a shred of doubt if we use pre-
emptive war to justify further invasions and attacks that we will
kill those people that had NO intention of killing attacking us
and it will be thousands if not millions depending on the amount
of resistance they give us to the unjustified invasion and killing
of their loved ones and how scared we are at the time of doing
this invasion.

Heck the Nazi's use a fake attack on a small radio station to
justify the invasion of Poland. Funny thing was no Poles were
involved in that so called attack and the radio message later
blared over the air waves..it was a trick on Germany's own
people to get them to say "Let's kick some Pole booty"

Again sorry about your relative...sounded like a good a noble
person. But my freedoms were NOT in danger from anyone in or
around Iraq. I worry far more about GW and his crew than I do
about some Iraqi or terrorists. After all...all they can do is at
worst kill me, and that is nothing that I for one fear. It's NOT
being free that I fear.
