Apparently you think purchasing is a rational decision?
Maybe for you it is, and I'd like to believe it for myself, but there's a lot of research, and a lot of theory on which many a successful marketing campaign has been built, that says for most people buying is a thoroughly emotional response, and people do respond differently to $19.95 than they do to $20.00.
