Internet explorer has the larger market share purely because the browser is, by default, included in the widespread Microsoft Windows operating system - and is highly integrated in it to boot. Most home users use windows, and most of them - in their flawed mindset - don't realise there's an alternative out there and don't realise how fundamentally flawed IE is, let alone have the know-how to change browsers.

Yes, it is a pure monopoly issue.
