Seems Ludicrous!
If I understand the proposed US legislation correctly, it would make criminals out of any movie rental outlet/ library/ Book or magazine lenders/ etc. if one of their clients made copies of or lent the material to another.

Perhaps when you hire a movie you had better watch it by yourself- inviting mates over may be inducing piracy?

Do the software companies think that their IP is superior to any other creative field?
