The tiny crowd? You mean Apple, Sony, RCA, Panasonic, etc, any manufacturer of mp3 players, any manufacturer of VCRs, makers of copying machines? Companies whose revenues dwarf the RIAA/MPAA by 100 times?
As someone who makes his money in the technology field, if I were you, I'd be worried about placing severe restrictions on innovation, devices and software. What if I use one of your products to infringe on someone else's IP? If you set up a network for me, and I start distributing music on it, completely without your knowledge, you'd be just as responsible for the financial damages.
