But I live there too...

1. I live in New York, and haven't seen a bar or restaurant close (left or right) since 9/11... at least not because smokers are coming in. I'm sure there is one out there, I just haven't seen it.
2. Inhaling fumes for a car exhaust is not as bad sucking the fumes from the pipe, BUT IT'S STILL BAD FOR YOU.
3. Liquor, contrary to some beliefs, if you drink in moderation, there should be no adverse affects. Some scientist say a glass of wine a day is good for people. I'm pretty sure that second hand liquor is okay. There really is no positive effects of smoke. I must admit that an excess of liquor will probably lead to a quicker death somewhere along the way . I don't know if I would say liquor is FAAARRR worse, or FAARRR better, unless I could actually prove it.
How would someone compare the two? Price wise?
Weight Wise?
If a person drinks one drink, is that like a pack of cigarettes, or 1 cigarette.
Though, it would be a good study to show how many people die from liquor versus smoke.
3. I know many smokers who like the smoking ban also. Granted I'm sure most smokers hate it, but I really don't know that many.
4. While NY is colder than California, 7-8 months where it's too cold. Hmmm, Which months would that be..
Oct., Nov., Dec., Jan. Feb, Mar. Apr. May. I know I was talking a nice walk last Sunday, and I'm pretty sure April is spring like.
I must admit that it might be better for smokers if there was some alternative in the winter months (I consider that Dec, Jan, Feb), and I sympathize, but, HEY, I didn't make the choice to smoke. So, if you want me to go outside while and keep the smokers inside, no thanks. I'd rather hang out it a parking garage.
