Hat's off to Mr. Ashcroft.

Do I agree with his politics? No way, but then agreement isn't really required. Look, the guy is a hard ax, but isn't that what his job should require? I mean shouldn't the "top cop" be a hard core sort and go after the "bad guys" with everything he has? It's really up to the other branches of government to place the checks and balances into the system isn't it? I mean Ashcroft does have a boss, several of them in fact.

It would seem to me that getting up set at Ashcroft for being "gung ho" is like getting mad at your dog because he has four legs. But like a good dog, the Attorney General needs to be kept on a leash and his influence restricted. Otherwise you could end up living in a police state and liberties would be something from the good old days to reminisce about.

Hmmm, wait a minute....
